Edudevs extends the brightest and most colourful greetings to all our readers on the occasion of Holi!
Welcome to another enriching edition of Edlines Today for the month of March 2022. This edition features Shri Ram Global School, Delhi-West in our Big-League Institutions. The school strives to provide an interdisciplinary approach to students using different learning styles. We bring forward some brilliant observations by Ms. Annie Williams in our Principal’s Desk column on how educators and parents must be giving equal importance to physical as well as emotional well-being of the children. The insights from this note are thoroughly complemented by Ms. Vaishali Ghai in the Voice of Educator, where the mental health issues in children and the role of parent in this is rightly discussed. The importance of social-emotional learning is aptly portrayed by Ms. Ruchi Sharma in our Rendezvous discussion, where Ms. Sharma emphasizes how inculcating social-emotional learning in day-to-day teaching helps in developing inter-personal skills, leadership qualities, problem solving in students.
Next, our founder, Ms. Devyani Kapoor shares with us some experiences and importance of lesson planning; a practice that every educator must imbibe. Further, we present observations on the importance of mother tongue/local language as a medium of instruction in schools. This is crucial, specially in today’s time when there are multiple languages spoken at home and around, a child must not face a dilemma and is able to communicate in the local language along with English. This is also a progressive step in the National Education Policy 2020. Speaking of NEP 2020, we have a very interesting piece under our new column of EduHigherEd by Ms. Amrita Dass where she highlights the giant leap the education system is about to take with the NEP 2020. Last, but not the least, we feature Ms. Nandita Kapoor in our Educator of the Month segment where she shares some experiences as an educator with us.
